Beneath the Soil: History of Oil Shale and Nahcolite in our Area

The Rifle Heritage Center and the Rifle Branch Library will present Roger Day and Ed Cooley to give us insight on how the development of Nahcolite (the natural form of baking soda) and Oil Shale have impacted western Garfield County over the years. Plan to attend and learn some things about Garfield County that you never knew before! Light refreshments will be served.

This free event is part of the library's "Keeping History Alive" series.
