Theodore Roosevelt, the American West, and the Historic Stained Glass Windows

Long a fan of Theodore Roosevelt, professor Andrew Gulliford, Ph.D. will discuss Teddy's youth, his passion for the West, and his impact on the National Park Services. Dr. Gulliford will describe in detail Roosevelt's bear hunt south of Silt in 1905 as well as the commissioning of the Roosevelt Stained Glass Window which is housed at the Rifle Branch Library.

Dr. Gulliford is a professor of History and Environmental Studies at Fort Lewis College in Durango. He is the author of America's Country Schools, Sacred Objects and Sacred Places: Preserving Tribal Traditions as well as Boomtown Blues: Colorado Oil Shale which won the Colorado Book Award.
