Roaring Fork Youth Orchestra Holiday Concert

Join us to hear students from the Roaring Fork Youth Orchestra perform holiday favorites. Families, children, and young musicians are all encouraged to attend this free concert! Students will introduce the instruments of the orchestra and audience members will have a chance to talk with students and see instruments up close after the concert.

The Roaring Fork Youth Orchestra is in its 7th year as a local independent nonprofit and includes more than 50 students who play violin, viola, cello, or bass, as well as wind, brass, and percussion instruments. Students range in age from 6 to 18 and come from as far away as Mesa to take part. Rehearsals are offered in Carbondale at the Ross Montessori School on Thursdays after school from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. and on Tuesdays at Aspen Middle School. The RFYO is working to expand the program and offer rehearsals in Glenwood Springs by January 2018. The RFYO is made up of three ensembles so that young musicians from beginners to advanced players may participate in a youth orchestra level that is matched to their age and ability. Scholarships for tuition and private lessons are offered to make the program affordable for all students. Information on registration and scholarships is available at www.RFYO.org or 970-306-1235.
