NaNoWriMo 2023

Attention aspiring novelists: Let’s get those books written!

NaNoWriMo is an organization that promotes writing an entire novel (50,000 words) in one month.

Your Garfield County Libraries will support you in this journey by offering the following events:

 

Carbondale

Writers’ Prep & Discussion Group • October 3, 19, 17, and 24 • 5 to 6 pm • Topics include plot structure, character development, dialogue, action sequences, etc.

Nanowrimo Pep Rally! • October 31 • 5 to 6 pm • Encouragement, Halloween refreshments, and writerly fellowship.

Come Write In! • November 7, 14, 21, and 28 • 5 to 6 pm • Grab a cup of tea, a spot at a table, and get some words on the page.

Writers' Soiree • December 5 • 5 to 6 pm • Wrap-up party for all writers!

 

Glenwood Springs

Kickoff • November 1 • 10 am • Learn the rules, sign up, enjoy some snacks, and get to writing.

Writers' Nights • November 7, 14, 21, & 28 • 5 pm • Grab a seat in our conference room and get words on the page. Caffeinated beverages provided!

Mid-Month Check-In • November 16 • 5 pm • Join us for snacks and prizes celebrating progress made so far. 

Writers' Soiree • November 30 • 5 pm • Enjoy a wrap-up party for all writers!

 

Rifle

Writers' Nights • November 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 • 5 to 7 pm • We'll have writing spaces available; as well as snacks, and other resources to help you write you book. This is a bilingual program and is encourage to come come and write in any language. Bring you laptop, and a great attitude to write. 

 

Parachute

Writers' Nights • November 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, and 30 • 5 to 8 pm • Work toward your 50,000 word goal in the company of other authors. We'll provide computers, laptops, and the coffee.

 

Online Databases

Your Garfield County Libraries also have databases to help. All are free to use, but some may require your library card number and/or password to access.
