Staff Review:
Did you ever imagine yourself as a cloud? What could be more pleasant that floating across the sky observing the land as it rises to snow covered mountains, then gently falling to flower covered valleys, and softly tumbling down to the warm, sandy beach? Toni and Slade Morrison create a timeless fable around Little Cloud who is challenged to find happiness with her place in the world. She doesn't like joining the other clouds to make thunderstorms. They scare her. When Lady Wind shows her all the formations of a cloud, she finally finds a way to connect to her beloved Earth below. Enjoy this book as a loving tale that illustrates the whole is stronger than a single piece, or as an elementary introduction to what forms clouds may take.
