Budget
The draft version of our 2012 budget is now available for public review and comment. The budget will be presented to our Board of Trustees for approval at the regular board meeting on Thursday, October 6, at the Rifle Branch Library. Once approved by the library board, the budget will be presented to the Garfield County Board of County Commissioners on October 10 for review and approval.
The Garfield County Libraries' budget has two parts: the general fund, which is used to run the libraries, and the capital improvement fund, which is used to build and remodel the buildings. A portion of your Garfield County sales taxes support the general fund (so shop local and support your libraries at the same time!), while the capital improvement fund is supported by a one-quarter mill of Garfield County property taxes.
