Groundbreaking Technology: eReader How-to Petting Zoo

Dig out that groundbreaking eDevice from your closet and bring it down to the library so you can dig-in to new tips and tricks to take your device to the next level. At the Parachute Branch Library on Thursday, June 20 at 10:30 am our District Technology Trainer will be present to answer on-the-spot tech questions about your device, or any of the devices on display. You can also sign-up with one of our librarians for a 1-on-1 tech help session.

Hack the Surface

Hacker. A term that conjures up images of computer tyrants exploiting other computers to obtain control or steal information. But that’s not the only kind of ‘hacker’ out there. In fact, YOU may be a hacker, and you don’t even know it! Join us on Tuesday, June 25 at 4:00 pm at the Parachute Branch Library as we ‘Hack the Surface’ with a variety of hacker/maker activities, including TabLab, BrushBots, and MakeyMakey, that will put your mind and skills to the test!

First come, first served on supplies for BrushBots.

Zinio How-to Workshop

Zinio is the ultimate app for magazine lovers, with digital magazines for iPad, iPhone, Android, Mac, and PC. With your Garfield County Library membership, you can now download digital copies of magazines like Food Network, Digital Photo, National Geographic, and more... at no cost to you! Join us at the Parachute Branch Library on Thursday, July 18, at 10:00 am to learn about Zinio, and how to make it a part of your digital life!

How to Festival: 20 Things, 2 Hours, 1 day, 100% Free!

 Join us on Saturday, June 8, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon for the first annual How to Festival!  It's the perfect opportunity for our community to come together, learn, and have a great time - all for free! We'll showcase hobbyists, business leaders, and entrepreneurs who want to share their talents and knowledge. Come learn something new!

Ice Cream Social

Beat the heat with a delicious treat! Join us for our Summer Ice Cream Social at the Parachute Branch Library on Monday, July 1, at 11:30 am. Choose your own flavor, add your own toppings, and enjoy!

 Want to explore the world of digital photography?  Whether you want to capture landscapes or people, we can help you step by step from taking the photo through processing. Bring your own camera or check out one of ours and begin the journey. This is open to high school age teens only and you must sign up in advance. Lunch will be served.

Photo U takes place at the Parachute Branch Library on Monday, June 17, at 2:00 pm.

3D Origami

 Teens! Take paper folding to the next level and learn how to make 3D Origami at the Parachute Branch Library on Tuesday, June 11, at 2:00 pm.

Creative Element

 Teens! Want to make your own hardware jewelry? What about making your own toothpaste? Do you like duct tape? Join us for the Creative Element at the Parachute Branch Library on Tuesday, June 11, at 4:00 pm. Registration required, please call 970-285-9870.

Storytime

Children of all ages are welcome to join us at the Parachute Branch Library on Mondays at 11:00 am for Summer Parachute Storytime.  Fun stories, silly dances, new words, and more become the highlight of your day!

May Counting Contest

Parachute Branch Library's May Counting Contest is getting us ready to "Dig Into Reading" in June by counting stones! The winner will receive the chance to "dig in" with a lunch at a local restaurant of their choice.
