Loteria Night / Noche de Lotería
The Carbondale Branch Library will host Lotería Nights every last Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm for all family members! The main event for the evening is to play a few rounds of Lotería (aka: Mexican Bingo). This iconic Mexican game is very similar to bingo, but instead of numbers, playing cards consist of 16 (out of 54 possible) pictograms. Lotería is a fun game and a great way to learn a little Spanish!
We will provide the aguas frescas (beverages) and you could bring a small dish to share if you wish :)
Storytime
Storytime is each Wednesday and Friday at 10:00 am at the Silt Branch Library. Come join the fun! We read books, sing, play with felt boards, and do a fun craft at the end!
Get Your Uke On
Join us at the Carbondale Branch Library at 6:00 pm on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month for Ukulele nights. Bring your ukulele, a song to share if you have one, and Get Your Uke On! For beginners through experts, age 9-99. We’ll start off each session with a sing along (the library staff is hard at work on a theme song) followed by a short lesson and a Uke Jam. What better way to have fun and build community than to play and sing together! And is there a more fun and easily accessible instrument than the ukulele? Well, maybe the kazoo and you are welcome to bring one along.
